When? On the second and fourth Sundays of each Month (some exceptions, see details below).

Most members in our congregation own a Parish Book of Chant and we sing the Ordinary of the Mass and Latin Hymns by referring to this book’s pages (If you are new, we’ll lend you a book! St Joseph Catholic books and gifts in Anaheim also can supply you a book).

What is the “Ordinary of the Mass”?

As the video indicates, the most important singing at mass are the responses to the singing of the priest. You can practice those at this page: Call and responses in the Tridentine Mass (Latin)

When Easter comes, we will again sing Mass VIII (p.82 in the PARISH BOOK OF CHANT). Click here for practice with videos: MISSA DE ANGELIS (Mass VIII)

During LENT (after Ash Wednesday), we will sing Mass XVII (p. 107 in the PARISH BOOK OF CHANT). Click here to practice with videos: Kyriale – Advent and Lent (Mass XVII)

The Gloria VIII and CREDO III (CLICK ON LINK FOR VIDEO PRACTICES) when sung, will be sung “antiphonally”, by alternating the voices of the cantors and that of the congregation. Father intones both GLORIA and CREDO.

Sprinkling Rite :

Asperges me (p. 34 in the PARISH BOOK of CHANT). Note Father intones the ASPERGES.

During EASTER TIME, for the SPRINKLING RITE, we sing the VIDI AQUAM (Parish Book of Chant p. 35) in the place of the “Asperges”

MARCH 26TH (SUNG LOW MASS),

WE WILL HAVE A “SUNG LOW MASS”. The entrance hymn (sung when the Asperges and Introit would have been sung) will be the below, #137 in the TODAY’S MISSAL books (beige cover, in the pews at the Polish Center). Video practice below. The other hymns, in Latin, will not change.
